HISTORY
Department of Social work was started education in the 2013-2014 academic year. Our department continues its education in modern classrooms and application areas in its new building established within the university campus. Currently, there are 3 professor doctors, 2 associate professor doctor, 1 assistant professor doctors, 1 lecturer are 2 research assistants.
The department has started to admit students to Master's Program in the 2021-2022 academic year and to the Doctoral Program in the 2022-2023 academic year.
To provide our students with opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and specialization in different fields, Double Major and Minor Programs have been introduced between the Departments of Social Work and Child Development.
In addition, an Integrated Master’s Program has been launched, offering our undergraduate students the opportunity to take graduate-level courses during their undergraduate studies and begin their postgraduate education at an earlier stage.
OBJECTIVES
To train professionals who
• are sensitive to social affairs and who follow the society and health problems in that society,
• have the ability to work with a variety of applicant groups in a variety of environments,
• have critical thinking skills and the ability for self-evaluation,
• use evidence-based interventions and communication techniques,
• are ready to evaluate and analyze various social work methodologies to improve their practice,
• use knowledge from different disciplines to increase the welfare and well-being of applicant groups.
